Today I am one of many stops on #TheDry blog tour and I'm pleased to share with you all my 4 star review.
Blurb
Luke Hadler turns a gun on his wife and child, then himself. The farming community of Kiewarra is facing life and death choices daily. If one of their own broke under the strain, well...
When Federal Police investigator Aaron Falk returns to Kiewarra for the funerals, he is loath to confront the people who rejected him twenty years earlier. But when his investigative skills are called on, the facts of the Hadler case start to make him doubt this murder-suicide charge.
And as Falk probes deeper into the killings, old wounds start bleeding into fresh ones. For Falk and his childhood friend Luke shared a secret... A secret Falk thought long-buried... A secret which Luke's death starts to bring to the surface...
My thoughts
My thanks go to UK publisher Little Brown for inviting me to take part in the blog tour and for my copy of the book.
The Dry is Jane Harper's fantastic debut novel.
Having returned from Melbourne, Aaron Falk finds himself back in Kiewarra for the funeral of his childhood best friend Luke Hadler.
Whilst it appears Luke has committed suicide after killing his wife and son, the story unravels into what can only be described as a whodunit, Aaron Falk works with DI Raco to find out what happened to the Hadler family. Could there be money problems or secrets that are yet to be uncovered?
I admit, I had a few characters in mind that I thought had done it. But, I was wrong and when the big reveal happened, I found myself shocked. So, do you want to know who really killed the Hadler family? Is that a yes I can hear? Oh good. The book is released on 12th January 2017 and is available to purchase from amazon. I recommend this book to all crime/ police procedural fans.
